We'll now focus on Dominican Republic culture. First let's start with Food. The Dominican Republic national dish is La Bandera ("The Flag"; made of rice, red beans, and meat (beef, chicken, pork, or fish) Other typical dishes are : Sancocho, a stew often made with seven varieties of meat or Tostones, a fried plantain dish. Some dishes are made with sofrito, which is a mix of local herbs used as a wet rub for meats and sautéed to bring out all of a dish's flavors.

Then we'll focus on Music and Dance. The Dominican Republic is known for its musical genre named merengue, fast-paced rhythm and dance music based on musical elements like drums, brass, chorded instruments, and accordion, as well as some elements unique to the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, such as the tambora and güira. There are other very popular genres such as Bachata, Palo and Salsa Music. Dominican Republic has well known artists like Wilfrido Vargas, Johnny Ventura and Fernando Vilalona.
We'll end up with Sports. The most popular sport in Dominican Republic is Baseball. After the United States, the Dominican Republic has the second-highest number of Major League Baseball (MLB). The first Dominican-born player in the MLB on September 23, 1956 was Ozzie Virgil, Sr, and two Dominican born-players are in the Baseball Hall of Fame, they are Juan Marichal and Pedro Martinez. There are other notable baseball players as Rico Carty or Albert Pujols.
After Baseball, The Dominican Republic population likes Basketball, and some of dominican players plays or played for the National Basketball Association (NBA) like Francisco Garcia or Felipe Lopez. Dominican Republic has also olympic medals, as a gold medal in hurdles with Félix Sanchez.

To conclude we can say that Dominican Republic is a great island, and It's not surprising that It is the most visited destination in the Caribbean.
